2.Turkey is responsible for 80% of the worlds hazelnut exports.
3. The first Christian Church ever to be built by man was built in Antioch Turkey.
4. Saint Nicholas was born in Patara Turkey.
5.Homer was born in Turkey.
6. Istanbul tunnel is the second oldest underground railway.
7. The Turkish alphabet does not have the letters X and Q but instead they have undotted I.
8. Tulips were introduced by Turkish traders in the 16th century.

Turkey environmental issues

             Some of the environmental issues that are going on in Turkey are air pollution,land degradation,and water.The biggest problem from the air pollution is the combustion of heated chemical going into the air.There are 2 plants that is said to be the highest heath risk from humans,the Afşin-Elbistan coal-fired plant, and the Soma coal-fired power plant.Land degradation is when top soil goes to waste by over grazing and over fertilizing land.69% of Turkeys land surface has been effected by land degradation.Water is also a big problem because turkey does not have good water and about 2 thirds of the water is used for agriculture.

kirkpinar oil wrestling- The wrestlers cover themselves in oil and wear a 13kg leather trousers .Then they wrestle each other.

Camel wrestling-A tulu camel wrestles another camel and tries to make them retreat, scream or fall down.Usually the match lasts for 10-15 minutes.After the match is over the camel can not wrestle until the next day.

kafkasor bullfighting-Is when 2 bulls that are classified by there thickness of there neck or there weight fight in an area.

Game of jeered- Involves two teams of horsemen, who throw wooden javelins at each other to score points.

Art of turkey

Islam was main influence in the art of turkey.The art that was mostly made was carpets and calligraphy.Most of the are was based for religious purposes.calligraphy is a handwritten decorative letter.
The carpet is woven by hand and usually made out of wool,cotton,silk.

history of turkey
Turkeys first building was built 8,800 years ago. That building was made up of 150 mud built homes, and for all of the family's that lived there they had to enter there house from a hole in there roof.

After world war 1 the Turks were invaded by Greece and eventually had its independence in 1923.Then in 1934 women gained there right to vote.
